The Illustrator's Notebook: An International Success Story
Yesterday, we received a copy of Mohieddin Ellabbad's The Illustrator's Notebook in the library. Apart from the fact that it's a very interesting and wonderful book in its own right, what struck me was its publishing history. This book was originally published in Arabic, and it contains the original contents of the Arabic-language version (Notice how the Arabic is incorporated into the illustrations, almost like a comic book). It was also published in French and German before it was published in English. It has now been translated into English by Sarah Quinn, but did she translate it from Arabic? French? German? Whatever the case, it's a great look at creativity. Suffering from writer's or illustrator's block? Pick up a copy of The Illustrator's Notebook today.
