If you want to see some of the best children's literature around, be sure to check out the Dorothy Canfield Fisher Book Award homepage. For 50 years now, the children of Vermont have chosen their favorite books of the year. Each year, thirty new books make up the list, and Vermont kids vote for their choice. Right now, the DCF Committee is reading books published in 2006 to decide on the new master list for 2007.

Want to help? Adults can always apply to be on the committee (click here for more information), and kids can recommend their favorite titles (click here to do just that!).

The CHMS Library has all the books on this year's list. If you're a student in grades 4 through 8, the voting for your favorites will happen in April of 2007. Time to get reading!

How many DCF books do you have to read to be able to vote?

I asked the question, "How many DCF books do you have to read to be able to vote?" And I guess no one wants to answer me...
